Travel
CAR: First get to Exeter, then take A377 road to Crediton.
RAIL: First get to Exeter, then change to a branch line service (Tarka Line) to Crediton.
BUS: National coach network to Exeter Bus Station, then change to any of the following Services to Crediton: 50 or 51 (Stagecoach), or 377 (Turners). A wait of more than 20 minutes is unlikely during daylight hours (on Sundays the Stagecoach service is usually hourly). The journey takes about 28 minutes.
AIR: Airports at Exeter (15 km), Bristol (120 km), Newquay (110 km) and Plymouth (80 km) (due to political and business problems Plymouth Airport was closed in 2011; plans are in progress to reverse the situation). Approximate road distances from Crediton are in brackets. Taxis and car hire available at all four. All four airports cater for charter flights, except that Plymouth cannot take large jet engined aircraft.

Accommodation
Crediton has no large hotels. However, many houses and farms offer very comfortable Bed & Breakfast, mostly in rural surroundings. See the accommodation page on Crediton's commercial web site.

Information while in Crediton
Unfortunately the local district council withdrew funding for the Tourist Information Centre in the High Street in 2009.
The local library at the bottom of Deep Lane is open weekdays (except Wednesday), and also Saturday mornings. Some information may be obtained there, and they also have internet access.
From April to September there is an active Heritage Centre, run by volunteers from the local History Society, at the Old Town Hall (T on town plan), in the High Street.
Holy Cross Church is open daily and contains a large amount of information on the ecclesiastic history of Crediton.
