Shrine of St Boniface

The Shrine of St Boniface

The Shrine is located at the far end of the entrance hall to the Church. In April 2004 the Shrine was re-ordered to place the relic of St Boniface in a purpose built viewing port set into the floor.
This work was designed and undertaken by Roisin and Vincent Cowley and includes a new stained glass window on the East side, a large engraved slate plaque, and additional furnishings.
The bas-relief, by the late Kenneth Carter (16.06.1928-24.02.2007), of Boniface felling the Oak at Geismar, has been retained in its original 1969 position.
