Archives on Crediton

There is a large collection of post-reformation documents in the Crediton History Society archives held at Downes which are in the process of being placed into searchable databases. Few of these documents refer to Boniface or Crediton's Saxon heritage.

Proceedings of the Devon Archaeological Society contain a few articles on Crediton's early heritage - Neolothic, Roman, Saxon.

Memorials to various facets of Crediton's history and people can be found in the Crediton Civic Memorial Inscription Archive Data File which is searched with CMIAR software. The CMIAR reader software and the Crediton Data Files, including many images, are free to download from www.coastalresearch.co.uk/CMIAR/. This archive enables easy location of memorials, several to Boniface, with the geo-indexing and local map facilities.
