Events 2005
The Catholic community is very grateful for the considerable help we had from other churches with the many events of last year. No big civic events planned this year, but there will be another Parish Picnic in the summer - details below. Another group of young children are preparing for their first Holy Communion. Ben's comics are back in action - a pictorial contemporary representation of the Gospels; an exemplar may appear here later this year. A Catholic house group has been in operation for several months and is proving popular. This is in addition to the ecumenical Lent house groups that take place. Pilgrim groups from Germany and The Netherlands have started again and we hope to feature some of these in our images page. Saturday 7th May - Holy Cross Church at 19:30. A concert by Julia and Franz-Peter Huber accompanied by Neil Page. Franz-Peter is the Choral Director of Capella Cathedralis Choir at Fulda Cathedral. He brought the choir on a visit to our church last August. They gave a concert at Holy Cross during the evening which was a great success. Tickets £5 at the door, students free. Please support this important link we have with Fulda. Monday 9th May - A visit by parishioners from the Ingolstadt and Eichstatt area of Southern Germany (between Nuremberg and Munich) with their priest Fr Hans Eichenseer. Sunday 5th June - St Boniface Day - Parish Picnic in Mewcombes Meadow (Playing Fields) starting after Mass (weather permitting!). Located near the Boniface Statue (see map). Games and activities for all ages. On the same day Holy Cross Church will be holding its 'Showstoppers' Flower Festival (only a few hundred metres walk from the Statue)..... Weather didn't permit, picnic rescheduled for Sunday 24th July! Tuesday 14th June - A visit by a group from Fulda. Sunday 24th July - Parish Picnic - cancelled by bad weather! Saturday 10th September - Parish Celebration Afternoon at The University Chaplaincy, Glenthorne Road, Exeter (NGR SX 911 942) - Get together, picnic (bring a plate of food), sports events for the younger age groups, informal discussions on proposed Youth Group to follow on from St Francis Group. Everyone is invited. On the lawns if fine, indoors if wet. This one will not be cancelled! Sunday 18th December 2005 - Carol Concert and Nativity at 11:00. Tea/Coffee and mince pies will be served before the Concert (i.e. at the end of the 09:30 Mass). This is the first production since the establishment of the new Youth Group.
Christmas - if you're visiting Crediton for Christmas there will be two services: This page was updated on 12th December 2005.
