Tuesday 11th May 2004 - at 19:00 - "The Benedictine Background of St Boniface" by Fr James Courtney OSB. ATAB series - see below.

Saturday 15th May 2004 - Walking Pilgrimage from Exeter to Crediton. Assemble outside west door of Exeter Cathedral for a departure at about 09:30. Arrive at St Boniface Church mid afternoon.
Precise route still awaited but posters have been placed in local churches stating that the route is about 12 miles (19 km) and that a lunch stop will be made at Oldridge Church (grid ref SX 828962) at 13:00. This route appears to go over the Whitestone hills, meaning that the there is a long hill to climb. After leaving Exeter the route will however be along country lanes with little traffic and splendid views. The afternoon section of the walk will be mostly downhill, again on quiet country lanes.
A regular Stagecoach bus service (No. 50), or Turner's Coaches service (No. 374) departing at 15:47, or the Tarka Rail Line, can return walkers to Exeter.

Tuesday 18th May 2004 - at 19:00 - "What was life like?" by Canon David Julian Friend. ATAB series - see below.

Tuesday 25th May 2004 - at 19:00 - "Who was Boniface?" by Rev Dr David Keep. ATAB series - see below.

Saturday 5th June 2004 - at 12:00 noon - Diocesan Service at Crediton Catholic Church, presided over by Bishop Christopher Budd, on the feast day of St Boniface, to mark the 1250th Anniversary of his martyrdom.
Lunch (booking desireable) will be available in the Boniface Centre, adjacent the medieval Parish Church.
In the afternoon there will be an ecumenical prayer service at the Statue of St Boniface in Newcombes Park, starting at 16:00.
See Boniface Map for locations.

Monday 21st June 2004 - at 19:00 - Civic Service Commemorating the 1250th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Boniface. Starts at the Boniface Statue in Newcombes Meadow, processing to Crediton Parish Church (Holy Cross Church). This Civic (and Ecumenical) Service will have representatives from all the churches in Crediton together with civic representatives from local authorities and Dokkum and Fulda.

Sunday 18th July 2004 - at about 11:30 - Parish Picnic at Belstone Cleave (moorland valley) and the Finch Foundry (industrial archaeology visitor centre), Sticklepath. All this is located about 5 km East of Okehampton on the North East edge of Dartmoor.
Assemble at the Lower Car Park in Belstone Cleave at about 11:30. The O.S. Grid Ref is SX 637 940. Drive through Sticklepath village on the "old" main road towards Okehampton, the Finch Foundry is on the left. Near the end of the village there is a memorial on the left to John Wesley. Turn left here onto a narrow road that leads up the Belstone Cleave valley. After about 150 metres there is a car park. This is the 11:30 meeting point. From here we walk up the valley alongside the river to a suitable swimming site for the children. After about an hour we walk back down the valley, and into the village of Sticklepath, to the Finch Foundry. Go through the arch to the lawn at the back where we will have our picnic. In addition, starting at about 12:30, is the annual Jazz on the Lawn event. There is parking here, but if the weather is fine many people may wish to walk there from the car park in Belstone Cleave.

Tuesday 24th August 2004 - 19:30 - Concert of Marian Choral music, in the Parish Church, by the Capella Cathedralis - the choir of the Catholic Cathedral at Fulda, Germany.

A group of cyclists from Nursling Parish Church will be starting their cycling pilgrimage at St Boniface Church. We hope to give them an encouraging send off. Some parishioners may attempt to get on a bike themsleves and cycle a few kilometres with them!
